Tap, Tap/Jazz (ages
6-13)

Tap
is a dance in which the rhythm is sounded out by
the clicking taps on the heels and toes of a
dancers’ shoes. “Theater” or “Broadway” tap is
the style of tap performed in musicals such as
“42-nd Street”. As dancers progress in their lessons,
steps will get increasingly more challenging and
complex rhythm patterns will be explored.
Emphasis is placed on precision, speed, and
clarity of sound. Students will learn rhythm,
coordination, strength and stamina. |
