Three Important Facts About Theatre Classes

1. What are the qualifications of the instructor?

Most public schools offer some sort of theatrical event be it in the form of a school play, school musical presentation, or actual theatre classes. Some are taught by trained theatre instructors, but most are taught by teachers whose expertise is in another area, most commonly English or Literature. At Bravo Academy our instructors are experienced in Theatre. They have actual on-stage experience themselves, have college degrees in various performing arts studies, and have been teaching for numerous years.

2. What is the structure of the program?

Theater classes are designed to help kids learn all of the basics of the theatre in a fun, creative, and supporting environment. Basically, it is the idea of using acting, music, singing, and dance to create characters and tell a story. The class includes vocal technique with warm-ups and singing coaching for the group and for solos. Movement skills are taught through various styles of "theatre dance" and some basic acting skills and character work is presented.

3. What's the difference between doing a large school or community show and a private studio show?

At Bravo Academy our classes are limited and our shows are tailored to the number of students involved, ensuring personal attention and student growth. There are no concerns of having too many students for too few parts or being cast into a part either too advanced or not advanced enough, causing frustration and a lack of confidence. Our goal is to build a good strong foundation and develop an appreciation for Theatre and performance.

Most importantly, our Theater classes are about creativity and fun.
At Bravo Academy we strive to provide each student the skills
they need to enjoy theatre for a lifetime.
